A NEW guide to help community groups organise litter clean-ups has been officially launched.Falkirk Council’s Community Support Pack gives great ideas and advice to help people take environmental action and improve their local areas.
The pack was officially launched by the Council’s convener of environment and heritage, Bo’ness Councillor Adrian Mahoney, at a special reception in Falkirk’s Municipal Buildings last Thursday.
Among the community groups represented were Bo’ness Community Council and Bonnie Bo’ness, who are planning their own clean-up event.
Councillor Mahoney said: “This great little booklet provides lots of useful information to help people make a real difference in their communities, through clean-ups and other environmental projects. The pack includes case studies on existing groups – plus useful advice on setting up your own group and important things such as health and safety and insurance.
“Copies of the booklet were distributed to community representatives at the launch event. You can also download copies from the Council’s website http://www.falkirk.gov.uk/litterzone
“Hopefully this useful guide will encourage more people to take action and to help improve neighbourhoods across Falkirk district.”
