Traders invited to night at Hippodrome

TRADERS in Bo’ness town centre are being invited to a free event in the revitalised Hippodrome cinema in Bo’ness. They will see a short film and get a chance to meet some of the staff behind the cinema, which was re-opened in April after a £2 million facelift.

The traders’ event will be held next Tuesday, June 9. Letters have gone out to all town centre businesses inviting them to attend. Firms are being encouraged to register their interest with the council by close of business on Friday, June 5.

Falkirk Council’s leisure and tourism convener, Bo’ness Labour Councillor Adrian Mahoney, said: "We’ll show a fantastic short film about the restoration of the building – including interviews with local residents. Anyone interested in attending should let us know as soon as possible.”

He added: "There will also be an opportunity to meet with staff, find out more about the summer programme and suggest ideas for future collaboration. The Hippodrome is an important building in the town centre and we want local shops and businesses to benefit from the audiences the cinema attracts."

The event will start at 5 p.m. for 5.30 p.m. and should run until 7 p.m. If you’re interested in attending, please contact Donna Easton on 01324 590906 or email: donna.easton@falkirk.gov.uk giving your name and name and address of your business.

Copies of the new Hippodrome brochure – which highlights a Bond in Bo’ness season (and much more) – are now being distributed to local venues. You can also read about forthcoming films online at www.falkirk.gov.uk/hippodrome.
